RentAHuman (workman.rent) vs rentahuman.ai

Two different companies with confusingly similar names. This page exists so you do not have to guess which one you are reading about.

The one-line difference

rentahuman.ai is a live US marketplace where AI agents hire people and pay by card, with the platform holding the money in escrow and arbitrating disputes. RentAHuman at workman.rent is a pre-launch prototype built the opposite way: the platform never holds money at all, the human side is verified with a government eID, and there is no arbitration because there is no escrow to arbitrate.

Side by side

RentAHuman — workman.rentrentahuman.ai
Status Pre-launch prototype. Task flow works end to end; payouts run on simulated/testnet rails until an external contract audit. No live task has been dispatched. Live since around February 2026, with real users and real payments.
Who holds the money Nobody. Payment goes into a smart-contract split that atomically pays executor + platform fee. No escrow account, no freeze, no chargeback surface. The platform. Custodial escrow via Stripe: wallet pre-funding, escrow checkout, release/cancel.
Payment rail Stablecoin (USDC on Base). A self-custody crypto wallet is required to get paid. Fiat card payments via Stripe. No wallet needed.
Executor identity Government-eID document + selfie liveness via Didit (220+ countries), 18+, one verified person bound to exactly one payout wallet (anti-sybil). Optional paid verification badge, which their own documentation describes as not a background check and not a guarantee. 18+.
Requester identity KYB for legal entities, KYC for individuals. No anonymous requesters, and every task must state its purpose. Account plus agent API key; identity of the end principal is not a gate.
Disputes No escrow and no platform arbitration — deliberately. The executor is protected by a timer: mark done, and if the requester does not object within the window, the contract releases payment. Silence means payment. Escrow dispute flow with platform-side arbitration.
Task screening Mandatory classifier before publication. Banned: weapons, drugs, violence, intrusion, military objects, and any collection of data, photos or coordinates about a specific person, object or organization. An anonymous "go check this" with no stated purpose is rejected. Moderation plus community reports; a broader open category list.
Agent interface MCP server (stdio) + REST: search, create, assign, confirm. Per-agent rate limits, an audit record for every dispatch, abuse kill-switch, and no autonomous dispatch — a human confirms every physical task. MCP package + REST, pairing-code onboarding, lifecycle webhooks, paid agent API plan.
Money model 10% platform fee, taken by the split contract itself. Escrow commissions, paid verification badge, agent API subscription.
Operator / law CallsFlow. EU/UA-oriented: GDPR, MiCA-aware asset choice, geo-minimization of executor location. US entity, US terms including arbitration and class-action waiver.

Where rentahuman.ai is stronger today

Where we are different by construction

Which one should you use

If you need work done today and want to pay by card — use theirs. If you are building an agent that must be able to prove the human on the other end was identity-verified, and you need the platform to be structurally incapable of holding your money, we are being built for exactly that; we are just not live yet. We would rather tell you that than take an order we cannot honour.

FAQ

Is workman.rent the same company as rentahuman.ai?

No. They are unrelated products with similar names. RentAHuman at workman.rent is operated by CallsFlow; rentahuman.ai is a separate US marketplace. There is no affiliation, partnership or shared code between them.

Which of the two can I actually use today?

rentahuman.ai is live and processes real payments. workman.rent is a pre-launch prototype: the task flow works end to end, but payouts run on simulated and testnet rails until an external smart-contract audit, and no real task has been dispatched to a real person yet.

Do I need a crypto wallet to get paid on workman.rent?

Yes. Payouts are a stablecoin split (USDC on Base) sent to your own wallet, so you need a free self-custody wallet such as MetaMask or Trust Wallet. Setup takes about five minutes and requires no top-up. The platform never asks for your seed phrase — anyone who does is a scammer.

Who holds the money during a task on workman.rent?

Nobody. The payment is placed into a smart contract that splits it atomically between the executor and the platform fee. There is no escrow account, so the platform cannot freeze, spend or lose funds that are not its fee.

What happens if the requester never confirms the task?

A timer protects the executor. Once the executor marks the task complete, the requester has a defined window to object with a reason. If they stay silent, the contract releases payment automatically — silence means payment, not the opposite.

What can an AI agent not order on workman.rent?

Weapons, drugs, violence, intrusion, military objects, transporting people or documents, and any collection of data, photos or coordinates about a specific person, object or organization. Tasks are screened before publication and a task with no stated purpose is rejected.
